Home Biolab: Democratizing Science

Over the past year, I have been expanding my home lockdown biolab. I have made a makeshift flowhood using a plastic bin, using an instant pot as my autoclave, a lizard heater in a styrofoam box as my incubator and added a a 15,000 rpm centrifuge, and vortex genie and DNA extraction kit for metagenomic home research. I am also encapsulating probiotic cells in a alginate matrix to see how probiotics can live on a material inteface.
